PricewaterhouseCoopers Leverages Enterprise Web Integration Services from Information Methodologies for Army Online University
Herndon, Virginia, May 23, 2001 - Information Methodologies, Inc. (imi), today announced that its enterprise web integration services will be used in the PricewaterhouseCoopers' online learning portal solution selected by the U.S. Army last December, providing soldiers with convenient and easy access to higher education degrees and advanced training certifications.
The Army University Access Online program enables interested enlisted personnel to enroll in distance learning courses and to earn college degrees online. Military personnel may currently enroll at three military posts and, according to Army estimates, approximately 15,000 soldiers will participate this year.
PricewaterhouseCoopers will use imi's professional services to help ensure smooth integration and interoperability between e-learning, web, e-commerce, and back-office technologies used in this comprehensive education program. imi services will also support project management with conversion, interfaces, and implementation strategy and planning.
"We are proud to extend our long working relationship with PricewaterhouseCoopers on such an important initiative for the U.S. Army - especially one so notable for the innovative use of educational technologies," said Marie Wai Cadden, imi Executive Vice President. "Our experience with the emergent technologies of interest to higher education and federal government clients as well as our understanding of the best approaches for leveraging those technologies will make an important contribution to the success of the Army University Access Online program."
Army University Access Online brings together an unprecedented collaboration of colleges and universities offering soldiers more than 60 programs from 20 educational institutions. The project will deliver education to soldiers all over the world, anywhere, any time.
